Guide School and Training in Rhode Island

In Rhode Island, our research showed the below requirements to become a hunting guide or fishing guide.  Before operating as a guide ensure that you contact your states wildlife agency directly to verify all requirements.

*Always ensure that you and your clients have the necessary hunting and fishing licenses for the game you will be pursuing.

Basic requirements for Fishing Guide Jobs in Rhode Island:

  • If boat is at sea must be registered with US coast guard.
  • Also needs to be Registered with the Department of Environmental Management as a charter party boat: http://www.dem.ri.gov/

  • Ability to work with diverse groups of clients

  • Need all standard licenses to pursue the game for both the guide and participants.
  • No regulations or certifications noted to become a guide.
